William Rockhill Nelson Award

An Absolute Gentleman was a finalist for this award which is sponsored by The Kansas City Star and the Writers Place to honor literary excellence by Kansas and Missouri writers. The other fnialist was Morley Swingle, prosecuting attorny for Cape Girardeau County, Mo, for his novel Bootheel Man. The winner was Matthew Eck for The Farther Shore, a war novel.
